PURPOSE:To adjust the picture quality of a prescribed part in a pattern independently by applying level conversion processing for adjusting picture quality to an input video signal for a period shorter than one vertical synchronizing period in response to a signal level of the input video signal. CONSTITUTION:A signal level of an input video signal is detected by a level detection means 9 and a control signal is formed by a control means 10 in response to the detection result and a level conversion means 6 is controlled for a period shorter than one vertical synchronizing period. Then the level control means 6 in response to the control signal applies level conversion processing for picture quality adjustment to the input video signal for a period shorter than one vertical synchronizing period. Thus, the picture quality for a prescribed part in a pattern corresponding to the period shorter than one vertical synchronizing period is independently adjusted. |
