PURPOSE: To smoothly supply and discharge developer by constituting the device so that the developer may be fluidized as soon as the developer is attracted to a supply roll, and moved from one end to the other end of a developing housing. CONSTITUTION: New toner particles are discharged to one end of the chamber 78 of the developer housing from a toner container 86. A slender member 44 consecutively fluidizes the toner particles. The fluidized toner particles are attracted to the supply roller 74 from the member 44. The roller 74 carries the toner particles in a direction shown by an arrow 76. Electric bias is impressed between the roller 74 and the member 44 by a voltage source. The toner particles adhered to the roller 74 are electrified by an electrifying blade 82 before coming into contact with an electrostatic latent image recorded on a photoconductive surface. The toner particles form a toner powder image on the photoconductive surface. The new toner particles discharged from the container 86 apply pressure to the fluidized toner particles and move the fluidized toner particles from one end to the other end of the chamber 78 of he housing 80.
