The method is for producing a matt surface on a large sheet of sheet metal (12). Glass beads are directed at high speed onto the surface of the sheet by an impeller driven by an electric motor. The impeller is mounted in a housing (2) which is shaped so that a stream of glass beads is ejected. The impeller and its driving motor are mounted on a rail (15), so that the impeller moves across the metal sheet (12) mounted beneath the rail. The metal sheet is supported on parallel chains (20) which are driven by a motor (22) so that the entire sheet passes under the rail (15). USE - Producing a matt surface on large metal sheets.
