Slide or skid protection chain is for a vehicle tyre. It has a number of plate-shaped slide protection elements integrated into the chain network. The plate-shaped elements (7) are formed as self-standing rubber or plastics components independent of the chain network which fit directly over the ring (5) and links (6) of each of the three point chain connection sections.
