摘要 The copying mechanism is for grinding the teeth of a milling cutter producing spur gears. It has a leadscrew (3) determining the pitch (P) of the cutter profile. A cam is provided for undercutting the teeth. The cutter (2) is mounted by its spindle (1) in a headstock (5), the latter being in turn mounted on a slide (6). The basic cutting edges are situated between the cutter teeth and on a cone (A - A) with an apex angle of 2w. The profile of the leadscrew is trapezium shaped with a 20 deg. angle, and as the slide turns it moves along the axis (A-A) at angle of + omega to to that of the leadscrew. However the axis of the cutter is set parallel to that of the leadscrew when the headstock is turned in the opposite direction through an angle of - omega.
