PURPOSE:To obtain a solid-state laser device which is capable of generating a large output and emitting a laser beam in a good mode by providing a slab- like laser medium and a pair of reflecting mirrors for resonance to the laser device, with the reflecting mirrors forming an unstable resonator in the width direction of the laser medium and a stable resonator in the thickness direction. CONSTITUTION:A laser medium 1 with both ends being cut vertically is used and two reflecting mirrors 2 and 3 are provided on both sides of the medium 1. One reflecting mirror 2 is constituted of a spherical mirror and the other mirror 3 is constituted of such a curved mirror that has a convex surface in the width (b) direction of the medium 1 and a flat or concave surface in the thickness (t) direction. Therefore, the two reflecting mirror 2 and 3 constitute a resonator which is unstable in the width (b) direction of the laser medium 1 and stable in the thickness (t) direction. |
