PURPOSE:To improve a restricting property of a passenger, by composing a take-up core out of a first take-up core and a second take-up core holding the first core to take up most of surplus length on the first take-up core and the remainder on the second one. CONSTITUTION:When a passenger is seated on a seat, the surplus length L2 of a seat belt 9 is taken up by a take-up device 1. Since only a first take-up core 6 is rotatably energized by a take-up spring 7, the belt 9 is first taken up by the core 6. When the diameter of the belt wound core 6 is increased and the belt 9 comes into contact with the inner surface of a second take-up core 4, the core 4 is also rotated and then the belt 9 is taken up by the core 4. Most of the surplus length L2 of the belt 9 is taken up by the core 6 and the remainder is taken up by the core 4. In an emergency such as collision of vehicles, first and second lock mechanism 8, 5 lock the rotation of the cores 6, 4. Thus, the drawing-out of the belt 9 is blocked to restrict the passenger by the seat. Then, an extended length of the belt is substantially minimized in the emergency of vehicle to improve substantially the restricting force. |
