PURPOSE:To record a high-quality color image on an image receiving paper by incorporating porous microcapsules of each color dye precursor in the photo- and thermosensitive recording material, imagewise exposing it to selectively harden the microcapsules, overlaying the material on the receiving paper containing a color developing agent, transferring the precursor and reacting it with the agent by using a thermal head. CONSTITUTION:The photo- and thermosensitive recording material 12 imagewise exposed to visible light is overlaid on the receiving paper 18 so as to bring the porous microcapsule layer 10 of the material 12 into contact with the color developing agent layer 15 of the paper 18, and heat is applied from the rearside of the layer 10 by using the thermal head, the dye precursors of each color in the unhardened microcapsules 6a - 6c permeate the pores of the shells of the microcapsules and react with the color developing agent spread on the paper 18, thus permitting the color developed parts corresponding to image signals to be obtained and a high-quality color image to be recorded on the receiving paper. |
