PURPOSE:To obtain the subject product having improved fatigue resistance, flexibility and corrosion resistance owing to rubber surely intruded between element wires by twisting a pair of element wires and deforming one of the element wire in spiral form under specific condition. CONSTITUTION:The objective steel cord is produced by twisting a pair of element wires each having a diameter of 0.25-0.4 mm and a carbon content of 0.75-0.85wt.% at a twist pitch of 9-16 mm, wherein one of the element wires is deformed in spiral form at a pitch corresponding to 0.1-0.7 times the twist pitch and an outer spiral diameter (d1) falling within the range between d+2/100mm and d+2/10mm (d is diameter of the element wire). The deformation of the element wire to a spiral form can be carried out e.g. by engaging a single element wire with gear, etc., and twisting before introducing the wires into a wiretwisting machine. |
