PURPOSE:To improve the polarizing property of a solid-state macromolecular electrolytic type fuel cell by constructing the cell in such a manner that each of vent holes in a hydrophilic porous basic-member is formed in a through hole of specified size, then water is retained in the part of each of bores in the hydrophilic porous basic-member and reaction gas circulates through the vent hole CONSTITUTION:A hydrophilic porous basic-member 6 having its vent holes 9 is arranged on an anode 2 for a single cell comprising a fluororesineous positive-ion exchange film l, the anode 2 and a cathode 3 laminated together. Also a water-repellent porous basic-member 5 is arranged on the cathode 3 for the single cell. Water in a trap 14 is fed to the hydrophilic porous basic-member 6 via a wick 7. The fed water is retained in the parts of bores in the hydrophilic porous basic-member 6. Also abode gas is fed to the hydrophilic porous basic- member 6 having its vent holes 9 through an anodic-gas inlet 12 and is discharged out of an anodic gas outlet 13. Cathodic-gas is fed to the water-repellent porous basic-member 5 through a cathodic-gas inlet 10 and discharged out of a cathodic-gas outlet 11. Furthermore, the hydrophilic porous basic-member 6 has its porous material formed with 0.5 to 3.0mm diameter through-holes. Water and reaction gas can thus be efficiently fed to the anode for the single cell. |
