PURPOSE:To allow the exact reproduction of tracking information, etc., by rugged patterns by providing a light transparent substrate, a recording layer which consists of a light transparent resin incorporated therein with a photochromic material and has the rugged patterns on its surface and a reflecting layer on the recording layer. CONSTITUTION:This optical memory element has the recording layer 12 which consists of the light transparent resin incorporated therein with the photochromic material, is formed on the substrate 11 and is provided with the rugged patterns on its surface and the reflecting layer 13 which is formed on the recording layer 12. The rugged patterns are provided on the surface of the recording layer 12 consisting of the light transparent resin layer incorporated therein with the photochromic material in this case and a sufficient difference in refractive indices exists between this recording layer 12 and the reflecting layer 13 covering the recording layer 12. The tracking information, etc., by the rugged patterns are exactly reproduced in this way. |
