<p>PURPOSE:To attain the use of a pointing device in a simple processing way like a keyboard by storing the character information of the same format received from the 1st and 2nd conversion means. CONSTITUTION:When a desired menu is inputted with operation of a keyboard 1, the key operation signal is converted into the character information corresponding to a 1st converter means 2 and stored in a storage means 5. At the same time, the display position of the menu is pointed on a screen by a pointing device 3 like a mouse, etc., and this pointing signal is outputted to a 2nd converter means 4. A retrieving means 4b, for example, retrieves a table 4a based on the pointing signal received from the device 3, e.g. the coordinate data on the X/Y coordinates. Then the character information on an area where the data equal to the coordinate data is read out and outputted to the means 5. Thus the device 3 can also be used in a simple processing way like the keyboard 1.</p> |
