The rotor is designed for high rotational speeds. The magnet poles are protected against displacement at a high rotational speed and frequent changes of rotational direction, and the starting and stopping of the machine. A magnet flux concentration will probably occur if the length of the rotor pack is bigger than the stator pack. The rotor has tangentially oriented magnets (7), which are attached to the shaft by cotters (1), interconnected with discs, and located on both sides of the rotor pack. The cotters (1) are placed in insertion (2) grooves, which are opened from one side in order to align the cotters outer surface with to the inserts (2) outer surface. Magnets (4) are radially located over these surfaces with axially aligned rings (5) between them. The rings (5) are made of non-magnetic material fixed tightly on the inserts outer surface and the cotters (1). It is possible that the radially oriented magnets (4) are stuck to the inserts (2) and the rings (5). It is also possible to place a non-magnetic band (6) over the radially oriented magnets (3).<IMAGE>
