PURPOSE:To realize a high-density connector wherein the pitch between adjacent contacts is small by forming a linear protrusion in the direction of sliding of a contact piece and in an area where a contact is formed, the linear protrusion protruding to that side of the connector which makes contact with the contact piece, and forming a recessed channel in a position of the connector corresponding to the linear protrusion protruding to the side of the connector in contact with the contact. CONSTITUTION:In an area where a contact 12b is formed, a linear protrusion 12a protruding to that side of a connector which makes contact with a contact piece 14b is formed in the direction in which the contact piece 14b slides, while in an area where the contact piece 14b is formed a recessed channel 14a which is fitted with the linear protrusion 12a is formed in a position of the connector corresponding to the linear protrusion 12a protruding to that side of the connector which makes contact with the contact 12b. Therefore the direction in which the contact 12b of a plug 11 slides against the contact piece 14b of a jack 13 when the plug 11 is inserted into or extracted from the jack 13 is regulated by the linear protrusion 12a and the recessed channel 14a. Deterioration of the contact property of the contact 12b and the contact piece 14b and the short circuit between adjacent terminals can thus be restrained and a small, high-density connector in which the pitch between adjacent terminals as wells as the width of each contact are small is thus obtained. |
