PURPOSE:To make possible quantitative evaluation by representing the casual relation between individual phenomena and each cause with the use of symbols indicating abstractive relative-size relation and discriminating whether the possibility of a cause is high from these high total scores to store so as to display. CONSTITUTION:An abnormal diagnosis device is provided with an abnormality detector 4, an investigation information input device and the like, the abnormality detector 4 monitors the change of the quantity of process of a power plant and the investigation information input device 5 demands the preserve and cause estimation for inspected information input and investigation information data bases of their pieces of information. And the casual relation of individual phenomena and each casual items is represented with the use of symbols indicating abstractive relative size relation while each symbol is replaced by arbitrary size numeric values of degrees which are discriminated clearly and these are added every cause and it is discriminated that the possibility of causes is high from high total score to store so as to display. Thereby preparation and maintenance is easy and quantitative evaluation is made possible.
