Method for the construction of building surfaces (walls or coverings) using panels, in particular glazed panels, for the purpose of providing glazed units covering or protecting inside lit areas, for public access or private, and the method is characterised by the following points taken in combination: a) the said panels (1a, 1b) are factory-made, away from the site of use, b) and, for this purpose, the panels consist of a strengthening frame formed by profiles (2a, 2b) assembled and arranged on the edges of the glass area (4a, 4b), the frame rendering the panel self-supporting and permitting its displacement and its handling under conditions of safety, c) the panels are assembled, on site, on a support framework (11) to which they are made integral, d) the panels receive sealing means common to two adjacent panels, these sealing means being engaged upon assembly of two adjacent panels along the two facing edges of the two panels. <IMAGE>
