The invention relates to a cutting device with circular blade including: . a table (bed) (5) on which a piece (3) to be cut is located; . an arm (7), articulated to said table about a pin (8) and carrying a motor, the drive shaft (10) of which, parallel to the said pin, receives the said blade (2); and . a protective cover (12), enveloping the said blade and connected, pivotably, to the arm about a pin (14) parallel to the drive shaft. In order automatically to retract the said protective cover, the device comprises, between the protective cover (12) and the table (5), a stop-piece system (15) allowing a relative movement by sliding of the said cover (12) with respect to the said stop-piece system (15) when the arm (7) is lowered. <IMAGE>
