PURPOSE:To obtain a graphite-containing refractory excellent in durability in a simple process by dry mixing scaly graphite with a refractory aggregate presubjected to size control, and then transferring the resultant mixture to a normal production process. CONSTITUTION:A graphite-containing refractory containing scaly graphite blended therein is produced. In the process, graphite is dry-mixed with a refractory aggregate presubjected to size control to decrease the wall thickness of the graphite. A binder is then added to carry out kneading. The aforementioned dry mixing is preferably performed by using a rotation blade type high-speed stirring mixer. The kind of the raw material graphite is not especially limited; however, commercially available natural graphite having 100-1000mum grain size is most suited. Furthermore, the refractory aggregate is not limited at all. |
