PURPOSE:To remove the striations and voids from molten glass, by separating a main tank for the molten glass for coating from the subsidiary tank for the molten glass for core, and stirring the molten glass and passing through a filter in each tank. CONSTITUTION:The molten glass G for coating is stirred in the main glass tank 6 with the stirring rod 11, and passed through the filter 10 below the tank 6. The passed glass G is spun in the form of a filament through the nozzle 9. Separately, the molten glass G' for core is stirred in the subsidiary glass tank 12 with the stirring rod 14, extruded through the pipe 13 opened at the center of the nozzle 9, and introduced to the center of the glass G in the nozzle 9. The glass G' is extruded through the nozzle 9 together with the glass G to form a glass fiber. |
