PURPOSE:To develop techniques for achieving both of a maintenance free property of restricting a generation quantity of hydrogen to be within a substantially tolerable small range as a basic matter in establishing functions of a sealed battery, and improvement to a charge restoration property after a fine current discharge or overdischarge which is likely to occur in the sealed battery, or after being left after these. CONSTITUTION:For a sealed lead-acid battery in which most electrolyte is absorbed by a positive and a negative pole plates and a water absorbing separator, a coating layer of lead-antimony alloy is provided in part or all of the surfaces of a positive pole grid comprising lead-calcium alloy.
