The colour image display apparatus using the black and white cathode ray tube comprises: a circuit (100) for changing the horizontal and the vertical scanning period 3 times faster; a cathode ray tube (20) for displaying the output signal of the circuit (100); a focusing lens focusing the image fromthe cathode ray tube; a dicromic mirror (600) for dividing the light of red, green and blue transmitting through the focusing lens; an apparatus (700) rotating the dicromic mirror synchronized with the vertical scanning period; a power source circuit (500) applying the driving voltage to the rotating appartus; a deflection circuit generating the deflection voltage to the deflection york (210); a diffusion lens diffusing the image from the dicronic mirror.
