The method for preventing generation of floating yarn in the double knit structure, keeps the concealed yarn covered by pattern- forming yarn on the surface not to show out. The apparatus comprises a knit cam (9) between guide cam (4) and cylinder cam (5), a tuck cam (10) between knit cam (9) and cylinder cam (5), a needle (8) having butt (8a) for knit cam and butt (8b) for tuck cam, which respectively cooperated with the cams (9),(10).
