PURPOSE: To provide a system and method for matching a pair of detecting points with a reference constitution, and to execute a matching processing by using conventional hardware in a real time. CONSTITUTION: A programmable processor 14 receives a detected coordinate from a sensor 16, and receives a coordinate position from a reference storage device 12. The processor 14 executes coordinate transformation from a reference coordinate frame to a detection coordinate frame, and prepares a possible matching chart. The promising matching can be discovered from the matching having possibility of having a difference vector below a prescribed threshold. Those possible matching are arranged in a matching matrix histogram. This histogram is further corrected in order to eliminate the matching except the optimal matching. Then, the final matching can be used for discovering a specific target point in the detected constitution. |
