This device for suspending a measurement or sighting apparatus mounted on a vehicle, in which the apparatus (1) is arranged in a casing (2) connected to a support frame (3), itself connected to the vehicle, the casing (2) being connected to the frame (3) via elastic means (4) returning it into a reference position, in which the axis of the apparatus (1) is approximately perpendicular to the plane of the frame (3), is characterised in that it comprises means (5, 7, 8) for measuring the absolute displacements of the casing (2), the output of which drives means (6) for controlling the position of the casing (2), which means are interposed between the frame (3) and the casing (2), in order to stabilise the casing whatever the behaviour, in particular in vibration, of the frame. Application: suspension of a measurement or sighting apparatus for helicopters, aircraft, tanks, etc. <IMAGE>
