PURPOSE:To deal with various road surface conditions, reduce changeover frequency of a damper, and improve durability, by setting three sorts of damping force characteristic mode on a damping force variable damper, and controlling changeover of respective modes according to relation between vertical displacing speed of a spring weight and a threshold value. CONSTITUTION:A damper of a suspension device is constituted as a damping force variable damper capable of changing over a first mode (a) of which the expansion side is soft (low damping force) and the contraction side is hard (high damping force), a second mode (b) of which the expansion side is hard and the contraction side is soft, and a third mode (c) of which the expansion side and the contraction side are a little soft. The respective modes (a)-(c) of the damping force variable damper is controlled to be changed, according to the vertical displacing speed of a spring weight calculated with the integration circuit 71 of a controller 7 based on the detected signal of a sensor 6. Namely, it is respectively changed to the third mode (c) at the vertical displacing speed under a threshold value and at the speed over the threshold value and facing downward to the first mode (a) and to the second mode (b) at facing upward. |
