The present invention provides a novel method and apparatus for supporting a clay slug (10) during the thermal processing necessary for the formation of a finished brick. The present invention further provides a method for obtaining uniform heat distribution during the firing of the clay slugs (10) such that a rapid firing cycle may thereby be obtained. In the preferred embodiment, a plurality of clay slugs (10) are spaced slightly apart and suspended from a rod (15). The rod (15), with the clay slugs (10) suspended therefrom, is then conveyed through the various processing apparatus. |
