PURPOSE:To make satisfactory a shielding action to a laser beam irradiation part by shielding gas in performing laser beam machining without covering the material surface to be machined by an absorber by utilizing a polarization effect of a laser beam. CONSTITUTION:This shielding gas nozzle 4 for laser beam machining is provided with a passage part 4a of the laser beam 1, a gas port 4c whose opening edge part 4b is parallel to the material surface to be machined around the passage part 4a of the laser beam 1 and a filter 4d for rectifying shielding gas in parallel to the material surface to be machined on the gas port 4c. |
