Automatic and continuous developing machine for dual-chemistry films with differentiated pathways. A process carrying out the automatic processing operations on C41 negative films and E6 transparency films, in all formats, by virtue of a differentiated routing system of the short leader leading the film to be developed. This routing is selected at the beginning of the film. The different pathways are inscribed in the form of grooves in the different racks of the processing tanks. These pathways can be completely independent or can have a common trunking, especially at the exit tanks. The invention also relates to the production of a continuously operating automatic machine for developing films employing the process described. The use of these machines concerns chiefly small photographic laboratories investigating a multipurpose development hardware of low purchase and running cost, as well as the simplified management of the fluids required for the various treatments. <IMAGE>
