PURPOSE:To provide a substance having coronary vessel-dilating activity from a specific kind of marine organism, CONSTITUTION:Marine bacterial strain Ura-18B-a (FERM P-12301) similar to those belonging to Moraxella is collected from the seawater in Uragami Bay, Wakayama Pref., Japan, and microbial cells are crushed to obtain the objective water-soluble substance with a molecular weight of >=10000 dalton, which has coronary vessel-dilating activity comparable to that of nifedipine, a representative coronary vessel dilating agent. |
