TREATMENT OF FERMENTATION SOLUTION CONTAINING SUSPENDED SUBSTANCE

PURPOSE:To treat a fermentation solution while the amount of a membrane transmitted solution is held to a high level by subjecting the fermentation solution containing a suspended substance to centrifugal separation at first and subsequently subjecting the obtained treated solution to membrane separation. CONSTITUTION:At first, a fermentation solution containing a suspended substance such as bacterial cells or inorg. colloid is treated with a centrifugal separator to remove the coarse suspended substance and the treated solution is sent to a membrane separator 4 such as an ultrafiltration device or a precise filter by a pump 3 through a storage tank 2 to be separated into a membrane transmitted solution and a fermentation concentrate. This concentrate is returned to the storage tank and circulated to be subjected to membrane separation. By combining membrane treatment and centrifugal separation as mentioned above, the fermentation solution can be treated while the amount of the membrane transmitted solution is held to a high level.
