A monitoring arrangement for an electrical load has electrical connectors (A) for the connection to the laod and mains supply input connectors (E). The load connectors are mains output connectors. The mains input and output connectors are connected together via. a current sensor (1) which is connected to a meter (2, 3, 14) contg. an operating hours timer. The meter may contain an even counter. The current sensor is connected to a central control unit with an output connected to a display. USE/ADVANTAGE - For monitoring the operating duration of electrical load e.g. washing machine, record player, television, chest freezer. The device is connected to the load without ingress being required into the load and can be used to monitor and control other laod parameters.
