The valve (2) installed in the inlet manifold (1) is rotated (3) by a motor (4) turning or holding its output shaft (5) w.r.t. the motor body (6), on the end of which a drum (7) is rotated by the accelerator pedal cable (8) working against a restoring spring (10). The angular positions of the body (6) and valve (2) are signalled (11,12) to a control unit (14) together with engine speed (15) and wheelslip indications, overriding the accelerator pedal operation (9) when necessary. USE/ADVANTAGE - With traction control and automatic speed regulation systems, simple device can either hold throttle closed or adjust its opening.
