PURPOSE:To make possible to steer a rear axle of a vehicle with a simple arrangement, by providing a hydraulic cylinder in each of torque rods for supporting the rear axle, and by providing a control means for controlling the feed and discharge of hydraulic oil into and from the hydraulic cylinder. CONSTITUTION:In a rear axle steering device in which a rear axle of a vehicle such as a truck or the like, is suspended from a suspension spring composed of leaf springs, both ends of the rear axle are coupled to a vehicle body through the intermediary of torque rods 26, respectively. Couplings 33, 34 are provided at both ends of each torque rod 26, and the coupling 33 is fixed thereto with a piston rod 35 having, at its one end, a piston 36 which is slidably fitted in a hydraulic cylinder 37. The hydraulic cylinder 37 is coupled to the other coupling 34, and is extended and retracted by hydraulic pressure fed and discharged through a change-over valve 38 so that the effective length L between the couplings 33, 34 is changed to steer the rear axle. |
