A system for measuring and recording a level of liquid in open reservoirs and water courses, consisting of a measuring unit, receiving unit, a line connecting these two units and indicators and recorders of measurement results, where in the measuring unit there is a converter for conversion of the float position into an electric signal and a transmitter sending this signal to a receiving unit with outputs for connecting indicators and recorders of the measured level and with outputs for transmitting the results to control and data processing centres, characterised in that the measuring unit (1) contains a converter for converting the position angle into a coded digital electrical signal and a transmitter for serial transmission of the bits of this signal to the receiving unit (3), and this receiving unit (3) contains a receiver of the measuring signal, analogue-to-digital converters and digital outputs for control systems and for connecting local digital indicators (2) and devices (5) for telemetric transmission of measurement results to control and data processing centres and analogue outputs for connecting an analogue recorder (4).<IMAGE>
