PURPOSE:To correct fluctuations in toner consumption caused by the using time of a developer and to replenish toner. CONSTITUTION:A means counting the stirring time of a two-component developer 43, is installed, and when the number of video counts calculated by counting the output levels of each picture element of a digital picture signal is converted into a toner replenishing time on a CPU 67, the stirring time of the developer at this time, is read out, the conversion curve of the number of the video counts and the toner replenishing time, corresponding to the read stirring time, is selected, and the toner replenishing time obtained by correcting the stirring time, that is, the rotational frequency of a carrying screw 62, is determined. When one toner image is formed, the screw 62 is rotated by the determined rotational frequency to replenish the toner 63 into the developing unit 44, before the next image is formed. |
