The present invention relates to a method, apparatus and a level-indicating peg for marking-out a horizontal plane (2) over an uneven surface (1), for instance a concrete floor to be smoothed. Level-indicating pegs (6) are mounted on the uneven surface at a plurality of selected points (3), the upper end surfaces of the peg marking the horizontal plane (2). The method is characterized by anchoring elastomeric level-indicating pegs (6) in holes pre-drilled in the uneven surface (1) and cutting the pegs to a length corresonding to the distance between the uneven surface (1) and the horizontal plane (2) at each selected point (3). The apparatus includes a vertically adjustable levelling device (8) arranged on a stand (7, 19) placed in contact with the surface (1), a device (61-99) for anchoring a peg in a pre-drilled hole (39), and a clipping device (115) for clipping the peg in the plane subsequent to anchoring the peg. The peg has an anchoring head (59), a narrower stem (57) and optionally a suspension flange (58) at the rear end of the stem. |
