PURPOSE:To compose various nonlinear function data out of data of nonlinear functions stored in small number of tables or the table of small size and to synthesize the natural musical instrument sound of a sustainment system such as a brass instrument sound by using the data of the nonlinear functions. CONSTITUTION:This device is provided with an exponential function converter 8 consisting of an exponential function table and a shifter which shifts exponential function data according to input data, a priority encoder 3 which outputs data regarding the bit position of the most significant digit bit in the input data, a shifter 4 which shifts the input data according to the output data of the priority encoder 3, a logarithmic function converter 10 consisting of a logarithmic function table 5 which outputs logarithmic function data corresponding to the output data of the shifter 4, and an arithmetic means consisting of inclusive OR gates 7, 1, and 3, adders 9 and 11, and an AND gate 12. |
