PURPOSE:To recover the photosensitive body from fatigue and to prevent the generation of ghosts by heating a photoconductive layer at the time of non- image formation, thereby relieving accumulated charges. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive body 11 constituted by providing striped heating elements 21 extending in the main scanning direction (direction orthogonal with the rotating direction of the photosensitive body) on the rear surface side of the photoconductive layer 17 is used. While the photosensitive body 11 rotates and exists in a transferring/exposing/developing unit 41 from a transfer unit 51, the striped heating elements 21 are energized from a heating control electrode 25 to generate heat, by which the photoconductive layer 17 is heated. The photoconductive layer 17 is not heated at the time of image formation and, therefore, there is no adverse influence on the image formation. |
