An extreme pressure and fretting corrosion preventing grease composition contains 0.5-10 wt.% of an organic molybdenum cpd. and 0.5-10 wt.% of an extreme pressure additive. The weight contents of the sulfur cpd. and the phosphorus cpd. in the grease compsn. are each less than 3 wt.%. Pref. the organic molybdenum cpd. is a cpd. of formula [(R-O)n(HO)3-nPO (MoO3) wherein R= hydrocarbyl, alkyl, aryl, aralkyl, cycloalkyl or alkaryl; if n = 1, x = 1-7; if n = 2, x = 1-6. The extreme pressure additive is selected from plant/ mineral oil or fat sulfide, antimony dialkyl dithiocarbamate or antimony dialkylphosphoro dithioate.
