PROCESS FOR THE PREPARATION OF NITROETHENE DERIVATIVES

A new process for the preparation of the nitroethene derivatives, ranitidine and nizatidine, is described which takes place via new intermediate products and enables the said compounds to be prepared with a higher degree of purity. Another advantage is that in contrast to the known processes, it is not accompanied by the liberation of the highly toxic and malodorous compound, methylmercaptan.
