PURPOSE:To improve the heat resistance and activity of an exhaust gas purifying catalyst of a metal-contg. silicate such as zeolite. CONSTITUTION:A catalytic material obtained by depositing a transition metal on a metal-contg. silicate by ion exchange and an inorg. porous diatomaceous earth having no ion-exchange site are mixed, the carrier is wash-coated with the mixture to form a catalyst bed, and the catalyst bed is calcined to obtain the catalyst. |
