PURPOSE:To minimize the scattering of unburnt carbon and a fluid medium and control an unburnt gas to be generated to a minimum level in an incinerator. CONSTITUTION:In an incinerator 10 wherein a combustion gas generated from a fire grate part or a fluidized sand bed part 12 is introduced into an upper combustion chamber and mixed with secondary air to complete combustion, the combustion chamber comprises: a recessed portion 14 provided on the way of a gas flow passage, which is recessed laterally with respect to a gas stream and expanded again at a fixed distance; a first barrier 16 formed into a hat shape and provided at the outlet of the recessed portion; a lower combustion chamber 13 provided underneath the barrier and an upper combustion chamber 15 provided above the barrier; and a gas passage 17 provided on the outer side of the barrier. Further, a plurality of secondary air blowing ports 22b for injecting secondary air in a direction opposed to, or cross to, the combustion gas stream from the outlet of the barrier are provided in the upper combustion chamber and, according to this combustion, the stream of the combustion gas is turned in the downstream direction by the secondary air in the upper combustion chamber 15. Furthermore, a second comb-like barrier 23 is provided so that the secondary air and an unmixed combustion gas impact against the second barrier and are mixed with each other in the upper combustion chamber. |
