RECORDING METHOD OF CDP

A compact disc (11) recording system processes the analogue signal by a sample= and=hold stage (20) coupled to an A=D converter (30). The data are entered into a digital memory (19). The data are encoded (18) to be received by the laser head control and drive stage (17). Direct digital signals may be entered into the memory. The recording of data onto the disc is delayed by the action of the memory which acts as a buffer. If an error is detected in the data during the delay the recording onto disc is interrupted. A flag is set which prevents the section being used during replay.
