The valve comprises a shut-off element (8) which is closed by a system (3) incorporating a temperature sensor (13), and held closed by the pressure of fluid against it. The valve shut-off element (8) is mounted on a rotary arm (9), and is closed by a counterweight (11) which is released when a fusible element (13), e.g. of a metal or alloy, is melted. In a variant of the design the fusible element can be replaced by an electronic device controlled by a temperature sensor. USE/ADVANTAGE - For shutting off fluid flow in the event of fire. Valve can be closed without human intervention.
