An arrangement for determining body contours contains a large area vol. element (10.1-10.5) which is deformable according to the rear and side body contours, esp. of a seated person (6). A measurement device determines the surface contour of the vol. element which is supported on a frame (2) of stable shape. A frame section facing the body surface is curved similarly to the body shape. The vol. element is a seat cushion between sides of stable shape.
