PURPOSE:To measure a change in temperature of a coupler liquid with high precision and to make a measured value of sound velocity highly precise. CONSTITUTION:A high-frequency burst wave is converted into an ultrasonic wave. The ultrasonic wave is converged by an acoustic lens 6 and transmitted to a sample 9, a reflected wave from the sample 9 is converted into a reception signal and taken in and the elastic properties of the sample are measured therefrom. A phase detecting means 14 for subjecting the reception signal to phase detection, a means 16 for detecting the phase information on the reception signal on the basis of a phase detection signal outputted from the phase detecting means 14, and a sound velocity change detecting means 21 for detecting a change in the sound velocity of an ultrasonic wave propagation medium 7 from a change in the phase of the reception signal shown by the phase information detected by the means 16, are provided. |
