The motor vehicle bracking device is primarily for constituting one of the diagonals of an X-type braking system fitted with an automatic antilock and drive slip control system. The braking device comprises a single distributor which is sensitive to pressure conditions prevailing in the hydraulic circuit controlled by a master-cylinder (1) and a pump (2), enabling the circuit to be configured and adapted as required to a situation involving active braking by the driver, or a situation involving computer-controlled automatic braking.
