Knit goods stretch measurement - has fixed and sliding fabric holder on a pedestal to register movement through draw force on sliding unit

The appts. to measure the stretch of knitgoods has a pedestal (1) with a fixed unit (5) to secure the material and a sliding unit (9) to hold the material. The sliding unit is locked (15-17) as a defined gap from the fixed unit. The sliding unit is subjected to a constant draw force, to attempt to pull it away from the fixed unit. Pref. the force is applied by a wt., connected by a cord/cable to the sliding unit. The lock system has a sliding sprung locking bolt (17) which, when locked, is within a recess (16) at the moving mounting unit. The moving unit has a projection which rides in a guide groove (14) at the pedestal fixed unit. The units (5,9) to hold the fabric are flaps with a baseplate (10) and a wing plate pivoting against the base plate. The surfaces of the base and swing plates are fitted with needles, and a spring holds the swing plate in the closed position. USE/ADVANTAGE - The appts. gives a stretch measurement of the knitgoods in objective values.
