PURPOSE:To relieve man-hour required for adjusting a processing parameter for MTF correction processing in a digital color copying machine in which the deterioration in MTF of a read optical system is compensated. CONSTITUTION:A test original PG having line pairs of three kinds of different frequencies or over is prepared and an optical system 112 reads a lien pair of the test original PG. Then picture data after shading correction processing are fetched by a control section 118, which measures the amplitude to calculate an MTF characteristic of the optical system 112. Furthermore, a required correction quantity for compensating the characteristic is calculated and the filter coefficient for filter processing is decided by the correction quantity. The filter coefficient decided in this way is set as the processing parameter for the MTF correction processing. |
