A biological sewage treatment method and apparatus using hyacinths comprises: primary contact-oxidation process settling the pollutants under water-area load of 15m3/m2day or below after contact-oxidation during the retention time of 18-30 hr, secondary contact-oxidation process settling the pollutants under water-area load of 15m3/m2day and below after contact-oxidation during the retention time of 4-8 hr, haycinthus contacting treatment process contacting with hyacinthus being raised in the greenhouse maintained at 20-30 deg.C during the retention time of 6-12 hr and settling the pollutants under water-area load of 30m3/m2day or below after flocculating the suspended solids at multistage flocculation chamber, and activated carbon filtration process.
